Another match and another win! A lovely friendly match against Holsworthy with a 95-81 points win for Bude with great hosts who made us feel welcome. Let’s hope our first two matches are a sign of what is to follow. Well done to everyone but especially the new players.
The real business starts tomorrow with the Ladies taking on Callington at home so good luck to them.

Bude Bowls Club began the new season with a match against Stratton in the annual early season friendly. A closely fought match across 6 rinks with each team winning on 3 rinks with Bude pipping our local rivals by a single point.
A big well done to the new players who all stepped up and gave a good performance.

We are actively looking for new members so whether you are already a bowler or never tried it before, you will be welcomed and able to have a go followed by a drink from the bar while enjoying the fabulous location in the heart of Bude.

The sun shone on the 32 members of Bude Bowling Club who ventured out in their new kit for opening day on Saturday 18th April.
After a welcome from club president Fran Goldthorp Cathy Smeeth, one of Budehaven Recreation Ground’s trustees handed over the green and club member and Bowls Cornwall Group 2 chairman Brian Wonnacott, bowled the first bowl of the season. Members then enjoyed 10 ends of Bowls bash followed by tea and cake
Fran also presented a cheque for £1000 to the Bude Parkinson’s Group which had been the club’s charity last season.
The club is now looking forward to welcoming new players on the come and try open days on Sunday, May 26 from 11am until 4pm and Friday, May 1 from 5 pm until 7pm.
