WELCOME TO BUDE BOWLING CLUB

FORMED IN 1923

Our small, but very friendly club, is renowned for its hospitality and has a warm welcome awaiting all, new and experienced bowlers alike.The green is tucked away in the centre of Bude and the cosy clubhouse boasts its own ‘Nanny Moor’s Bar’.We have teams entered in various ladies and men’s leagues and have lots of enthusiastic members who enter county and national competitions each year.There are afternoon and evening club sessions each week during the summer season. During the winter months we run short mat in the clubhouse with house competitions, social events, and regular coffee mornings.Any new bowlers will be offered help from our fully qualified coach, which is tailored to their individual needs, and we can supply equipment initially to get you started.Whether or not you have ever considered trying the sport of bowling before, please just give it a go. You will meet the friendliest group of people and may even get hooked.
Bowls is a great way to relax, make new friends and feel part of your local community.

The sun shone on the 32 members of Bude Bowling Club who ventured out in their new kit for opening day on Saturday 18th April.
After a welcome from club president Fran Goldthorp Cathy Smeeth, one of Budehaven Recreation Ground’s trustees handed over the green and club member and Bowls Cornwall Group 2 chairman Brian Wonnacott, bowled the first bowl of the season. Members then enjoyed 10 ends of Bowls bash followed by tea and cake
Fran also presented cheques to both Parkinson’s Society and the Stroke Association which had been the club’s charities last season.
The club is now looking forward to welcoming new players on the come and try open days on Sunday, May 26 from 11am until 4pm and Friday, May 1 from 5 pm until 7pm.
If you’ve never tried bowling now’s the time to give it a go!
